

Carol Pelikan, age 87, born August 30, 1939, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of generosity, joy, and unwavering love that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Carol lived life with a warm heart and a vibrant spirit. She adored country line dancing, where her laughter and energy lit up every room. She also had a special talent for finding unique and thoughtful gifts while shopping on QVC — no birthday ever went forgotten. Remembering others was simply part of who she was. Carol’s caring nature showed in countless ways, always willing to help anyone who needed her, always giving more than she ever asked for in return.
She is survived by her daughters Lisa Smith (Mark) of Tucson and Michelle Ray (Kevin) of Chicago; her sister Gloria Sarsam; her step brother Richard Doerrfeld; and her sister in law Elizabeth Pytlewicz (Theodore Pytlewicz).
Carol was a proud grandmother to Jessica, Marc, and Brandi, and a loving great grandmother to Jordan. She was also cherished by her nieces Tina and Jennifer, her great nieces Sydney and Izzy, and her great nephew Morgan.
Carol’s family and friends will forever remember her kindness, her humor, her thoughtful nature, and the way she made every person feel valued and loved.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at a later date where loved ones will gather to honor a life lived with love, joy, and generosity.
