Charles I know you were looking forward to the Betsy Ross Classmate trip to Panama and Costa Rica. When the pandemic is over, I know you will join us in spirit as we travel to the places you were looking forward to seeing during our trip. Although I doubt I could ever match your photographic skills and talents, I will carry my Nikon camera and lenses and try to remember your guidance and advice for a beautiful picture.
Rest in peace my treasured classmate. We will miss you at our monthly gatherings, the laughter you always evoked, and the solemn prayers you offered at the end of our meetings to guide and protect us until the next monthly gathering. Gina Barclay-McLaughlin

I originally met Charles (before kindergarten) in 1946. Occasionally Carole,Meathel,Myself and others played outdoor supervised games together. Our formative years were spent at Besty Ross Elementary School. Even after his family moved from the old neighborhood we seemed to have always been in and out of each other's lives. I shall miss my Buddy Chuckie's boyish humor and manly words of wisdom.
May his Family find comfort in knowing he was respected and cherished by many.

On behalf of my father, Clarence Avery.

Our deepest condolences to Charles’s daughter Adrienne and his grandchildren.

Dad met Charlie working at the Railroad Retirement Board where they became lifelong friends. They went to countless baseball and basketball games together, watched twice as many on television and discussed them over the phone. Charlie was kind and generous to my dad and all of my family. He took photos of us whenever asked and only took meals as his payment.

Charlie, thank you for always looking out for my dad and for being a good friend to him. I hope to do as good a job as you. You will be missed.

I met Charles in the early seventies when I came from the night shift to day at the RRB. He was always friendly and remained the same kind individual through the years. My heartfelt sympathy to his daughter, other family and friends.
