Cheryl Lee Day

Cheryl was born in Chicago on March 27, 1951, to William and Sara Povitsky. She attended Roosevelt High School and Gerhardt Beauty School, where she formed many deep, lifelong friendships. In 1974 Cheryl married the love of her life, Arthur "Butch" Day. Together they had two sons, Zach and Greg. Cheryl loved being a mom, and raising her two sons was her greatest joy.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Michael, and her husband and true other half, Arthur "Butch" Day.

Cheryl is survived by her sons, Zach (Danielle) Day and Greg (Maya) Day; her cherished granddaughter, Fiona Day; her sister and best friend, Fern Grate. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews, Kris Grate, Tom (Missy) Gottstein, Kim (Nick) Mingo, Christine (Jim) Wilks, Debbie Gottstein, Tracy Mcloed, Steven (Jessica) Mcleod and Scott (Kathy) Mcloed. As well as a beloved group of friends, too many to name, and many others whose lives she touched deeply. Cheryl's family is planning a celebration of her life. Details will be shared at a later date.
