Clifford Owen Stettler

Clifford (Cliff) Owen Stettler passed away peacefully at home on December 26, 2024, at the age of 96. Clifford was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years Marian and his brother Howard. Clifford is survived by his son Peter (Kim), daughter Linda, granddaughters Megan and Hannah, nieces Sandra and Dianne (Paul), and nephew John (Helen). A lifelong resident of the north side of Chicago, Clifford graduated from Shurz High School and received a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Drafted into the US Army after college, Clifford served two years assigned to the Signal Corps Engineering Labs at Fort Monmouth, NJ. After the Army Clifford worked for various firms including IIT’s Amour Research Division, Electro Products Labs, the Cook County Bureau of Environmental Control, and the City of Chicago Department of Water. Clifford was active in local organizations including the North Edgebrook Civic Association as well as Edgebrook Community and Park Ridge Community churches. An avid sailor, Clifford was a longtime member of the Chicago Corinthian Yacht Club at Montrose Harbor.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 am on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Park Ridge Community Church, 100 S. Courtland Ave, Park Ridge, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Clifford’s name to either Shriners Hospitals for Children or Breakthrough T1D (F/K/A Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation - JDRF).
