David met his wife Jeanine at Northern Illinois University, and they were together for 54 years. To David, time spent with family was the best part of life. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and children, especially on road trips out west.
There wasn’t any place he couldn’t get the family minivan, and countless wonderful memories were made on those journeys. Later in life, David enjoyed his weekly video chats with his granddaughter, and was thrilled at every opportunity to laugh, dance, and play with her. David worked as an Audio Visual Supervisor at the University of Illinois at Chicago and was always intrigued by the newest technology.
He loved working with his hands, and could fix or build most anything, often to much higher standards than the original product. He was a kind and gentle man who approached each day with patience and a sense of calm, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
David is survived by his wife Jeanine (nee Bryk), his son Andrew, his daughter Leslie (David) Rahn, his granddaughter Jane Rahn, and his brother Dennis (Carolyn).
The family is planning a private memorial celebration at a later date.
