Dwight G. Mayberry passed away on October 3, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on November 24, 1940, Dwight lived a long and prosperous life filled with love for his family, pride in his country, and enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures.
Dwight shared 64 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Linda. Together, they raised three children: Robert, Cynthia, and Timothy. He was preceded in death by his children Robert and Cynthia. He is survived by his wife, Linda, and his son, Timothy, and daughter-in-law, Mary.
Dwight proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War and received medals in recognition of his service.
An avid golfer, Dwight also enjoyed collecting stamps and coins. His collections occasionally earned him the affectionate title of “hoarder” from Linda—a bit of family humor that reflected the life they shared. In retirement, he enjoyed watching old Westerns and spending time with Linda, especially taking her out to dinner.
Dwight was a proud grandfather to Benjamin and his wife, Allison; Matthew; and Kyle and his wife, Amanda. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Lana, Jinora, Emmett, and Rowan.
Dwight will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and proud Marine. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
