Edward S. Wierzba

November 12, 1929 – August 10, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Edward Stanley Wierzba announces his peaceful passing on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at his son Peter Wierzba’s home. Edward was 95 years old.

Born in 1929 to Stanislaw and Paulina Wierzba. Edward was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and proud great-grandfather. He was the beloved husband of Janina Wierzba and the late Maria Danuta Wierzba. Edward was a dear brother to Romuald and his sister Theresa. He is lovingly remembered by his children Kris (Bill), Helen (Bob), Peter (Megan), and Richard; grandchildren Jennifer, Heather, Matthew, Patrick, Morgan, Liam, Beckham, and Colton; as well as great-grandchildren Adi, Jordan, Joey, and Noah.

Edward was an exceptionally kind and genuine soul, the true embodiment of a gentleman. Always ready to lend a helping hand, he was deeply loved by family, friends, and all who knew him. His passion for fishing and deep appreciation for nature were defining parts of his life.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago. The funeral service and burial will follow at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, 6800 N. Milwaukee Ave, Niles.

In honor of Edward’s love for the environment, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers or gifts, donations be made to an organization dedicated to nature preservation or that a tree be planted in his memory.

Edward Stanley Wierzba’s legacy of kindness, integrity, and love for the natural world will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A visitation for Edward will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646. Followed by a Chapel Service at 11:30 AM at the same location. Following the visitation will be an interment at St Adalbert Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums, 6800 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714.
