

Born in Evanston, Illinois and raised in Chicago’s Edgewater Beach Apartments, Ed graduated from The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT. and earned a B.A. degree in English, a JD, and an MBA all from Northwestern University.
Ed was a retired Senior Tax Counsel for Baxter International. In retirement, as during his career, Ed served as a Director of Thorek Hospital. He was a volunteer and trustee for Lawrence Hall Youth Services for over 50 years. Long-time member of the Chicago Tax Club, he served many roles including that of Club president.
Beloved husband of 58 years to Jean Margaret Lennox (nee Sorensen). Devoted father of Edwin C. (partner Angeline Schaefer) Lennox, III, and Kathryn “Katie” (Theodore) Karn. Very proud grandfather of Andrew, Elizabeth, and Benjamin Karn and step-grandfather of Rachel and Eric Karn. Eldest brother of Susan (the late Edward) Kelley, Elizabeth “Liz” (Charles) Granville, Scott (the late Carrie) Lennox, and Lucy (James) Shappell.
Ed is preceded in death by parents Edwin C. Lennox, Sr., Marie Powley Lennox, and sister Sarah (Robert) Schreiber.
Zoe, the terrier mix, will miss her faithful companion.
Friends and family will gather for a visitation Friday, May 19th, 2023, 4-8 pm at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 N.Western Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60625. Funeral service 9am Saturday, May 20th, at the funeral home, followed by burial at Rosehill Cemetery, 5800 N. Ravenswood Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60625.
