We were thunderstruck to discover the passing of Erwina!!! Only in the pandemic could this happen and us not know about it. My mother had an immense amount of respect and admiration for Erwina, and we are sincerely sorry for your loss.

Today it has been two years since Erwina passed away. We still remember her often, and hope that you, Carl and Tom and your families, are all well. Many greetings from Tiefenbronn, Roman and family

Erwina was a wonderful friend to Elizabeth Wallentin . She was kind, considerate and very generous in her friendship . They shared many laughs , smiles  and fond memories . Joe and I enjoyed our visits and conversations with Erwina . We appreciated all of her  goodness and her smiles. We will miss her in our life . Our prayers and thoughts are with her family .

Erwina and I shared many wonderful memories during the many years I worked at the rectory and carnival.  She was a gem!  A lady in every sense of the word.  Gentle, soft-spoken, always pleasant and willing to help.  Kind and funny - a wonderful sense of humor and I loved her laughter.  

We share our German heritage and talked about our shared stubbornness!!   A phenomenal cook and baker - she could whip something up in no time and it was always fabulous - even if she wasn't always happy with the way it turned out.

She loved her family - her "boys."  I only wish I could have spent more time with her.  She was a joy and her friendship was a blessing.

May she rest in peace and may her family know that she will never be forgotten, nor will her acts of kindness and generosity.

On behalf of the Society of Danube Swabians, we send our deepest condolences on the passing of Erwina.  She was a fabulous cook, who enjoyed cooking for her Kerneier Club.  She was definitely someone who taught others her secrets in how to prepare meals for large groups.  Her roasts for their banquets were legendary.

We send you our prayers as you continue life without her, but remember all her wonderful gifts she left behind in her legacy.

Erwina was a very special, faithful, loving friend. She convinced me to help her with the St. Hilary altar decorating. Went spent hours working and laughing.  Eventually she passed her artistic torch to me. I always felt so proud, when after Christmas Mass she would come up to me with a big smile and a warm hug and saying "Good job!" Her memory will truly be a blessing and live always in my heart.

Erwina was a very special friend.I will miss our visits on Sunday evenings when  my  husband Mike and I would stop by. She was always cheerful even when she was in pain because of her shoulder.  Sometimes we would stay well over an hour. sharing neighborhood news. She was especially kind to our dog  Rosie , who would  pull us to her door knowing there was a special treat waiting for her.  Rosie is not a friendly dog  but  she loved Erwina.  We had not stopped lately because we didnt want to risk bringing  germs , in case we were non -symptomatic.  It is shocking  sad news to hear she is gone.  Our sincere condolences to her family. 

My most sincere condolences to the family of the truly lovely Erwina Gartner.  I have so many fond and fun memories of working with her at St. Hilary Church.  Oh, my! The fantastic lunches that we all had!  I feel so fortunate to have known her.   We'll miss her on earth, but Lorenz and her mom will be happy to see her. 

What a loss. Such a great lady. She loved St Hilary Church and was very devoted to it. We shared many wonderful moments together in the rectory there. Loved her so much. Heartfelt condolences to the family!
