Everett Hamilton Moffat, 68, of Chicago, passed away March 12, 2012. Beloved husband of Caroline Seufert, nee Rehm; proud and devoted dad of Kristen Moffat (Jeff) Powell, Juliet Elizabeth Moffat (Scott Fanelli), Andrea Jeannette Moffat (Kim Rogers) and Alexander Everett Moffat; cherished grandfather of Jackson, Ashley, Oliver, Lucy, Clara and Carter; dear brother of John Donald (Jerry Ann) Moffat. Everett was a graduate of North Allegheny Senior High School & Kenyon College and was a lifelong learner and teacher. He taught math, coached The Stock Club at Sunnyside Junior High in Berkley, IL and worked as an Options and Commodities Trader on the CBOE & CBOT. Everett was the Co-founder of The Heartland Institute, was an avid player of piano, bridge, and scrabble and a big time lover of life. A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012 at The Union League Club, 65 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago followed by a reception until 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Midwest Palliative and Hospice CareCenter, 2050 Claire Ct., Glenview, IL 60025. Caroline & family, I was so sorry to read of Everets passing. I remember meeting you last year at the reunion. I was the Tiger. I pray you all will find peace in your hearts and remember a good man who walked this earth and gave warm smiles to all. May you memories be sweet reminders of him.
