Fe was born in Ilocos Sur, Philippines, to Atanacio and Ceferina (Valdez) Ronquillo on August 2, 1940. She attended high school at Candon National High School in the Philippines, and then earned her degree in Bachelor of Science in Education in 1962 from the University of the East, Manila, Philippines. She worked for several years as an Elementary school teacher in Ilocos Sur, then she took a short hiatus from work, in order to start her own family. She married Ernesto Abano on June 15, 1968, and raised three beautiful children. She later went back to work as an examiner with the Commission on Audit in Manila, up until her retirement.
Fe was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She made sure she was present in their every milestone. She especially loved her role as “Lola” (grandmother) to her grandchildren. She kept abreast with their progress and motivated them to be the best at what they do. She was able to take care of every single one of her five grandchildren when they were newly born.
Fe had a warm personality. She had a ready smile for everyone and she never refused to help those who were in need. She easily made friends everywhere she went, and is deeply loved by everyone around her.
She loved gardening but her true passion was cooking. She was known for her signature dishes that nobody else can replicate. She loved cooking for her family and friends especially during special occasions.
Fe will be lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses, Katherine& Jessie Javier, Michelle & Scott Ovrevik, and Anthony & Karen Abano. She will also be greatly missed by her five grandchildren, Anndrea, Alexander, Athena, Angelo and Sierra. She shared a very special bond with her siblings and will be greatly missed by them - especiallly by her one and only sister, Nieves, her brother Romulo , sister-in-law Gloria, and sister-in-law Nellie, along with her loving nieces and nephews and their children.
Fe was predeceased by her husband Ernesto Abano, her parents Atanacio and Ceferina Ronquillo, and her two brothers, Manuel and Cesar Ronquillo.
