Frances McClure Taylor, fondly called mom, momma, grandma, Wankie, Tee-Tee, Frannie-Mae, and Ms. Frances, was born on April 26, 1946 in Baltzer, Mississippi, to the union of Robert Sr. and Sarah. After moving to Chicago with her grandmother, Frances attended Phillips High School with her brothers.
In 1966, Frances married Verdell Taylor, Sr., with whom she had three children. In later years, Verdell preceded her in death. She then had one more child and adopted a child. Frances was a great cook, baker, hair stylist, make-up artist, and seamstress. She was a highly skilled seamstress and could sew just about anything. She made the best foods and could really throw down on a 7-up pound cake. She loved to be around family and friends. She adored kids, and other people’s children loved her just as much as her own kids did. Frances had a natural and unique gift for making people feel cared for. Even when she had very little, she always found a way to give to others. Although small in stature, she commanded the respect of everyone she encountered. She touched so many lives. So many loved her!
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Aaron, Edward, Robert, Dink, aunts Ardella and Hattie, and uncle Elizah.
On Thursday, August 11, 2022, Frances made her transition.
She leaves to mourn her passing, children Paul Taylor (with wife Melanie) of Calumet Park, Illinois, Dale Marie Taylor of Chicago, Illinois, Diane Lewis of Indiana, Verdell Taylor (with wife Monique) of Olympia Fields, Illinois, and Walter Taylor of Chicago, Illinois, as well as 21 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, her only surviving brother, the oldest, Jesse Beals of Los Angeles, California, one half-sister, Myra Beals of Chicago, Illinois, brother-in-law Vernal Taylor (with wife Ava) of Chicago, Illinois, and sister-in-law Dale Marie Taylor of Orlando, Florida, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, and two special cousins, Helen and Mary Alice Henderson of Chicago, Illinois, with whom she talked with on a daily basis.
