

Born and raised in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood, Gary attended Senn High School and graduated from Evanston Township High School.
He earned his B.S. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, his M.B.A. from Northeastern Illinois University, and his C.P.A. certificate before embarking on a long career as an auditor for the State of Illinois Department of Revenue.
Gary was a mellow fellow who loved to golf and watch classic films, listened to jazz and the blues, and enjoyed playing board games with his family.
Beloved husband of 29 years to Janice Lyn Kelo (nee Gutow) and World’s Greatest Dad of Andrew Gary Kelo and Angela Rose Kelo.
Preceded in death by his brother Stephen Kelo and their parents Edward Frederick Kelo and Elva Rebecca Kelo (nee Jackson).
Visitation Friday, April 22, 9:30am (prayer service 11am) at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, 6901 W. Belmont, Chicago, 60634. Family will follow in procession to Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie, IL.
