George was a man of God who lived his life by the word of God. This verse of scripture was his life verse. Through the good and the bad, he was always praising God. George was the perfect example of how to suffer graciously without losing who he was. His sense of humor, love for God and others only increased with his illness. Like a rose pressed between two stones, George too released his sweet fragrance to all who knew him.
We wanted to share his favorite Bible quote in the hopes that it will help you as it has for each of us. Even through we are going through profound sadness we give thanks to the lord for ending George’s suffering.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 New International Version (NIV)
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
