George Lum

George Lum, age 86, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022. George was born April 4, 1935. George H Lum, loving husband of Nora Yuet Lum, devoted father of Frances (Fausto), William, and Helen (Michael); loving grandfather of Victoria (Jason) and Nathan (Lauren); great grandfather of Jaiden, Jordan, and Lincoln; caring brother of David (Judy) and Rose (Alex). George was born in China on April 4th, 1935. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in business and married his sweetheart Nora. George migrated to the United States as a young man. He was a great storyteller, sharing his boyhood adventures in China. He will be remembered for his mouthwatering dinners and his passion for tasty food. Many raved about his sandwiches and chicken dishes. His happiest moments were sharing a meal with family and friends. During those times, his pleasure was felt and shared by all with him.

A visitation will be on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, (Edward A. Tylka, Manager), 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646. A funeral service for George will be on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:10 PM at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646. A committal service will at 1:45 PM to 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 Gross Point Road, Skokie, IL 60076.
