Gilberto Cardona, 71, of Chicago and born in Colombia, passed away July 21, 2012. Beloved wife of Ana M. Cardona, nee Cruz; devoted son of the late Luis Eduardo Cardona and Maria Azeth Cardona, nee Arias and son in law of Ana E. Cruz and the late Felix Cruz; loving brother of Edelma (the late Joaquin) Salas, Maria Genoveva Cardona and Orlanda (the late Eduardo) Sanchez and brother in law of Felix Cruz; cherished Godfather of Jorge L. Gutierrez, Mauricio Perez and Andres Sanchez; dearest uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday, July 27th, 2012, 3 – 9 p.m. at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 N. Western Ave., Chicago. Prayers at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 28th from the funeral home to St. Hilary Church, 5600 N. California, Chicago for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment Rosehill Cemetery.
