

Alvarado, Gloria E. née Ortiz, 62 passed away in her sleep on May 6, 2014 in Oak Lawn, IL after a long illness of Dementia. She was born in Lansing, Michigan with family in Texas and Chicago. She is preceded in death by her father Ernesto A. Ortiz, Sr. and survived by her mother Margarita Ortiz, née Martinez, four sisters and seven brothers. She was a beloved mother of six; loving grandmother of nine, caring aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews. She loved her life in Texas, Arizona, Michigan and Chicago. She enjoyed barbecues, gardening, music, movies, reading, family gatherings, family photos & cross-word puzzles. She also loved going to church to sing and teach bible school. She will be missed dearly. Visitation will be offered at her place of worship on Monday, May 12 from 9am until time of mass with Fr. Gary officiating. Mass at St. Gall Parish, (corner of 55th & Kedzie Ave.) at 11am. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Gall Catholic Church.
