Greg was a passionate man who cherished nothing more than his family, his fishing lures, and Chicago sports teams. He believed that a day spent fishing was a day borrowed from heaven, and he passed on to his sons the understanding that, " the world is essentially good."
He is survivied by his wife of one year - Heather, his sons - Nathaniel and Nicholas, his step-daughters - Catherine and Carole, six siblings - Vicki (Karen) Thomas, Jill (Kyle) Ross, Gail (Tom) Timm, Jeff, Dan and Doug. He is also survivied by his Aunt Geraldine Strzepek, his god-daughter - Bethany, and his first wife of 23 years - Gayetana Iovinelli and a host of nieces and nephews.
Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Shirley, his grandparents, and a step-son - Charles.
A wake will be held Saturday, September 20th, 2014 from 4:00 - 9:00 pm at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, IL, 60646.
