She is preceded in death by her husband Michael Short, her son Brian Short, and her brother Patrick (Carol) Jordan.
She is survived by her brother Tom (Barbara) Jordan; her children Carolyn (William) Wardman, Barbara (Bill) Wohlers, Michael Short, and Robert (Shirley) Short; and her grandchildren Lauren (Dave) Chaplinski, Gabe (fiancé Hannah) Wohlers, Hannah (fiancé Vaughn) Wohlers, Ruben (Samantha) Melendez, Marquess (Patricia) Melendez, Ivan (Desiree) Melendez, Alicia (Mark) Wiech, Trisha (Jordan) Bishop, and Denise (Ryan) Heiser.

A visitation will be held at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 North Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60625 on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 4 pm-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Matthias Church, 2310 W Ainslie St, Chicago, IL 60625, on Tuesday July 7, 2026, at 10 am, followed by a Committal Service at All Saints Cemetery.
