My favorite memories with Mom (as we would call her), are when she would host sleepovers with my sisters and I. We would get dropped off and be so excited to spend time with her. We would make popcorn and she would have our favorite flavors of jarritos at the ready. We would all get onto the sofa and watch movies or telenovelas all night.

When my sister Veronica and I would get bored, we would start making pillow forts by her piano. She would laugh at us when we inevitably hit our heads and tell us to be careful! She would also encourage us to play that piano even though we were awful! She loved the sound of any music. To her singing in the kitchen or telling us what record to put on while we played in the yard, I'll never forget how happy she would get.

There are so many fond memories with her, but those are some of my favorite moments of my childhood. Mom, I love you so much and you will be sorely missed!

My mom was an angel on earth. She taught us how to love. She was always smiling and sociable. She made friends easily,

She came to this country with children to follow the American dream and her husband. She took English classes, raised kids and cooked almost every single day even though she was tired from working a full-time job. I remember how happy she was to learn how to drive and earn her license. We enjoyed visiting gardens, shopping and dining together. The two of us took a trip to Mexico to visit her family. That was a very special memory for me.

She is now my angel in heaven. While I will miss her dearly, I know she is lighting up the sky with her smile. I love you my mom!
