

Jacqueline Dunkins Brooks was born on May 14, 1941 to the union of Cubie Williams and Mary Lou Dunkins. Affectionately called Jackie, she was the youngest of four siblings, Nacoma, Verna Nadine, and Charles, all of whom preceded her in death. Jackie's youngest brother, Cubie Williams Jr., preceded her in death, also.
Jackie was born and raised on the near Northside of Chicago. She received her formal education through the Chicago Public School System. Jackie attended Edwin Jenner Elementary and William H. Wells High Schools. For many years, Jackie was employed in various positions. She worked at Wilson & Jones Co., R.R. Donelley and retired from Western Electric in 1983.
Jackie was united in holy matrimony to Frank J. Brooks Jr., on June 12, 1956. Jackie was the matriarch of her family. Jackie was a loving, devoted, ambitious, hardworking mother to her four children, Jacqueline Q, Celestine, Reginald, and Keith. Reggie, her oldest son, preceded her in death.
In her passing, Jackie leaves to cherish precious memories, daughters: Jacqueline Q. Najeeullah (Arthur) and Celestine Brooks, son: Keith Brooks, Sister: Cynthia Givens, grandchildren: Henry Brooks (Karin), Billy D. Howard, Bianca Brooks, Donte' Partee, Lance Hill, Reginald Brooks Jr., and Regina McFadden. Great grandchildren: Chantay Lewis, Darren Brooks, Jacqueline J. Brooks, and Daniel McDonald. Great-great grandchildren: Rosemary Camphouse, A "special" nephew: James L. Holt Jr., "special" nieces: F. Loretta Foster and Diane Holt, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A viewing will be held at Union Missionary Baptist Church, located at 940 N Orleans St, Chicago, IL, 60610, on November 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Following the viewing, a Celebration of Life will take place at the same location from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The Committal Service will be conducted at Lincoln Cemetery, located at 12000 S Kedzie Ave, Blue Island, IL, 60406, on November 22, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
