James M. Sovetskis

James M. Sovetskis, age 62, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer. Jim leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and stories that will continue to bring smiles to those who loved him.

Jim was the beloved son of the late Ronald and Phyllis (Shook) Sovetskis and brother of the late Deborah Macciaro. He is survived by his sister, Kimberly Casper, who was a devoted caregiver to Jim. Her unwavering love, dedication, and compassion meant the world to him and to who loved him.

Jim was a proud uncle to Nicholas, Amanda and Dana (Bryan), and Ross (Nicole), and a great-uncle to Trevor, Grace, Gavin, Knox, and Beckett. His family was one of the greatest sources of joy in his life, and he will be remembered for the special place he held in each of their hearts.

Jim enjoyed the simple things in life. In his younger years, he loved to golf, play Nintendo, and he could always be found enjoying a game of cards or working his way through a good word-search puzzle. But perhaps what Jim enjoyed most was visiting with people. He had a silly sense of humor, loved to tell stories, and to give others a hard time in the most loving way.

Jim also had a particular talent for sneaking snacks when nobody was looking. And if you knew Jim, you probably heard him ask for a shot and a beer at least once. Of course, when it came down to it, he was perfectly happy to settle for a mixed drink instead. He knew how to keep things simple, have a good time, and make the people around him smile.

Jim will be remembered for his playful spirit, his love of family, and all the little quirks that made him uniquely Jim. His laugh, his jokes, and his unmistakable personality will be deeply missed.

He was loved more than words can express and will be missed greatly by his family and all who had the opportunity to know him.
