Janice Marie McCann

With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the peaceful passing of Janice M. McCann, age 68, of Chicago, Illinois, on Thursday, July 17, 2025. Janice was a woman of great strength, enduring faith, and boundless love. Her warmth, laughter, and resilience touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Beloved wife of the late William J. McCann, Janice was the devoted and loving mother of Angela, Kevin (Bridget), and Sean (Carrie Griegel). She was the cherished “Nana” to Carter, Corinne, Brooklyn, Gavin, and Dylan, a role she embraced with unmatched joy and pride.

Janice was the dear sister of Rich (Jean) Gundich, Jimmy (Sharon) Gundich; fond aunt to Laura, Brian, Amanda and Breanna Gundich, her memory will be lovingly carried forward by many other relatives and treasured friends.

A proud daughter of Irish heritage, Janice was deeply rooted in her Catholic faith and active in her community. She dedicated many years as a passionate volunteer with the American Legion and was a proud member of the Women’s Auxiliary, where her strong spirit and generous heart left a lasting impact.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Andrew J. McGann and Son Funeral Home, 10727 S. Pulaski Road, Chicago, IL. Funeral Friday, July 25, 2025 prayers from McGann Funeral Home at 11:15 a.m. followed by a Mass at 12:00 p.m. at St. Cajetan Church, 2445 W. 112th St., Chicago, IL Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Chicago, IL.
