My deepest sympathy to the Arends family for the loss of their beloved son Jason. 

My condolences a d prayers to his family and friends. I was also one of those troubled youths that got the Jason Arends experience. He was a great person to talk to with problems and everyday situations. If it wasn't for Jason I would be where I am today. And because of his dedication and commitment to helping people I am now helping others out. I was blessed to have him be a part of my life. I am truly sad that he has passed away but I know in my heart he would want me to carry in helping others around me and making them better and so on. Thank You for being apart of my life again my friend. I will miss you dearly. He served 24 years to the city of Chicago and protecting it. God has another Angel looking down on us all. My you Rest In Peace my friend.

I was one of the troubled youth that Jason worked tirelessly with back in the mid 90s. He was always a source of humor and fun even during the not so great days. I am more than sad to hear of his passing but I also take comfort knowing he put himself out there to help anyone and everyone. I send all of my strength to you his family during these times. Rest well Jason.
