Born in Milwaukee, Jeff attended Nicolet High School in Glendale, WI, where he acted in school plays, community theater, and was a member of the National Honor Society.
While earning his B.A. in Performance Studies from Northwestern University, Jeff wrote, directed, and produced a play entitled “Speed of Light,” as well as starred in a few NU productions. He also was well-known around campus as “D.J. Jephreee,” disc-jockey-ing many parties and venues throughout Chicago and Evanston. Jeff was a very deep thinker and often turned inward to create, which was his true passion. He expressed himself through sound, writing, teaching, and had a genuine curiosity for the workings of the world.
After NU Jeff moved to Los Angeles, where he worked as a composer/director, and produced motion comics for Viacom and MTV. He also worked on projects for Fox, Disney, & Universal Pictures. Jeff earned his M.A. in Media Theory and Production from the University of Iowa, where he taught classes and was A.B.D. towards his PhD.
