It was amazing, but not surprising to hear everyone say how giving you were, how unselfish you were and how you gave yourself to everyone because that is exactly how I see and will remember you. I wish there was an opportunity for you to have found a partner in  life, but thank you for dedicating your life to God and to the Church.  You have touched many peoples' lives. I thank you. I will truly miss you.

I didn't have a chance to thank him in life, so I do it here. Thank you, Bro. Jenito. Thank you for loving me, for loving my kids, for loving my family, for your nonjudgmental ways, for your openness and everything you have done. There are studies that show how your pastor is, is how you perceive God to be. I want to thank you for giving me the space to see that God is loving, caring, understanding and nonjudgmental.

I want to thank you for what you have done for my Mom, Clare and Angelia. You stepped up when you didn't have to. You started out as a Pastor but in an indirect way, you became part of my family and I thank you for being there at all times for them.

Pastor Jenito has seen everything about my life...mistakes, babies, partners, jobs, etc.  But not once did I hear anger, spite or judgmental opinions. I always saw him sporadically, here and there, over a couple of months, at one point over a couple of years...but he was always welcoming, always warm in greeting, always ready to pray for me and the kids. He loved and cared for my kids, ALL OF THEM:  Jose, Luis, Joey, Brielle and Jordan-for their safety, their studies, to give them comfort & peace and that God always watch over them. Unfortunately, you didn't meet the last one, Jeremiah in person, but I know that you would have prayed and cared for him too.  And lastly, you were always praying for me.

It took me a long time to gather my thoughts to say goodbye to this man whom I've known for over 40 years since I was teenager.  There are so many memories about Pastor Jenito that stand out...his food concoctions "food ala chamba", how he ate cold sabow-in gel form straight out of the fridge and didn't warm it up, how he had a hearty laugh and laughed a lot, how he always was ready for some fun and have a good time, how he was ready to teach you about God at a drop of a hat, how he played Stairway to Heaven on his guitar, how he would sing Bohemian Rapsody during karaoke and knew all the words...caroling during Christmas, how you always pulled your guitar out during birthday celebrations...

Jenito Delos Santos was our next door
neighbor for many years. He was also our friend, a Pastor, who was always there when we needed a prayer. The Pastor Jenito, can never be forgotten and will live in our hearts forever.
This is not a goodbye,  this is a "I  will see you again, Pastor Jenito." You are now, in God's hands ✋️ 🙏.
