He was born in Humacao, PR, on August 3, 1930. He was one of 12 siblings and at the age of 21 he served almost 3 years in the Korean War where he received (4) Army commendation medals: the Korean Service Medal with 3 bronze stars, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Combat Infantrymen Badge.
At the age of 26 he went to live and work in Gary, Indiana at the Steel Industry like many Puerto Ricans. There he met Sister Carmen Ramos, with whom he married and enjoyed 62 years together until God called her to his glory. They have five sons and a daughter. Jeronimo was a good son and brother. He was the patriarch of the family and looked upon for guidance and spiritual support during final arrangements on his mother and siblings.
At 52 years old, Jesus Christ found him and from that moment Brother Jeronimo's life began to be transformed. He began to serve God with all his heart and strength. He graduated with honors from a Bible Institute where he was ordained as reverend. He served in the church as well as ministering to those in the prisons and nursing homes. He was always studying the Bible and fasted and prayed often. He was a missionary, and at the age of 93 he retired from his missionary and ministry calling.
Through his testimony, three of his children came to the feet of Jesus Christ and today two of his sons continue to serve him because one is with the Lord.
In 1993, Brother Jeronimo and his wife Carmen retired to Orlando, Florida.
For divine purposes, God brought them to the Pentecostal Church of God, MI, where he continued his ministry. Brother Jeronimo was always willing to serve in the church, he had a kind and helpful spirit.
At the age of 92 he fulfilled his dream of visiting the Holy Land of Israel and at the age of 93 he took his last missionary trip to the Dominican Republic.
His favorite hymn was "Love You Only Lord. His motto "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Phil 4:13) and his favorite Psalm "23", Jehovah is my shepherd.
Today, he is survived by his sister Gloria; His children and spouses are Freddie and Yvette, Ivan and Vicky, Nelson, Ricky. His grandchildren are Candace, Corinne, Stephanie, Adam, Steven, Fred Jr, and Gabriel. His great-grandchildren are Isaias, Yalis, Bella, Jenessa, Jasiah, Jase, Coraline, Benjamin, Charlotte, Oliver, and Luke. And nephews and nieces.
With great pain we feel the loss of a father, a brother, a minister of the Word of God but we do not say goodbye, we say see you later. Today you left but soon we will see you. "You fought the good fight, you have finished the race, and you kept the Faith, just wait for the Crown of Justice that the Lord will give you."
WE LOVE YOU AND WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU.
