Jesus Rodriguez

Jose de Jesus Rodriguez passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the age of 95. Papa Chuy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Aurora, his children Luis Armando (Luz), Nivardo (Vicenta), Angelica (Rich), Veronica (Enrique) and Sonia (Sergio); his grandchildren Jason, Priscilla, Adriana, David, Paulina, Leonardo, Alondra, Daniel, Rudy, Kate, and Simone; Predeceased and greeted in heaven by his beloved daughter Silvia (Rafael).

He was born in Hacienda de San Francisco, Tabasco, Zacatecas, Mexico and raised in Tayahua, Zacatecas, and lived in Chicago for over 50 years. Jesus was a long-time employee at Father and Son Pizza. His passions were cooking, gardening, baseball, and writing. He was a devout man of faith and longtime parishioner of St. Genevieve Church.

Jesus surrounded himself with his family. He dedicated his life to enriching the lives of those around him with deep faith and strong moral principles. He enjoyed spending hours reading in his garden. His greatest joys were his grandchildren. He celebrated life and loved to share stories of his childhood. His legacy is one of family, humor, generosity and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
