In the many years that I have known John, he was always a patient listener and a steadfast champion to his friends and family. His thoughtful wisdom will always be a rock to lean on and his unwavering support to stand upon. His humor will always be a source of laughter and a cause for a smile and quiet chuckles. I miss you.

A bright light has gone out in the universe.  You will be missed my friend.  

27 years of friendship. John was more then a friend, he was a light in our lives. His beautiful smile would warm you to your soul. His wisdom and  love changed everyone he met, especially my family. He was Godfather to my daughter and grand daughter and more then a best friend to me. We all know he's in Heaven with God where he belongs but he will always be loved and never forgotten.Our love and prayers are with his family.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of my grade school friend John. I always remembered him, even though our last meeting was sharing a pizza at the 63rd Street Giordano's many, many years ago. John was a kind and compassionate person with a great sense of humour. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Burbatt family who were very kind to me in my St. Rita GS years. I will never forget the boy who gave me the nickname "Lucy Husa"!  Only Johnny Burbatt could tell you you were a loud mouth and get away with it.  I am so Sorry Mrs. Burbatt and Michell that he is no longer physically with you but you know that his spirit and his love will always be with you!

I last saw John in the fall of 1996.  We were both sitting in this big Detroit made monster that I think was his father's car.  We had spent the night driving and talking about why I had to leave home and never come back again.  A lot was said.  He listened patiently.  He was a good enough friend to let me go because I honestly needed to go.

John and I reconnected over the phone in 2016.  He told me that I had been on his mind and he wondered how my life had turned out.

I will never know John as well as I should have.  However, I know him enough to be thankful for his friendship, while wishing him the grace before God that he so readily deserves.

I miss you John.

About a year ago, John gave me absolution for my sins.  He was like that.

Over the last year we continued talking to each other.  At one point John said to me, "You know Santos, it's okay you left.  You had to leave to become the man you are today."

I am so very sorry to hear that John passed away.  I called him a few month's ago when Mary Gonzalez was with me (seems like yesterday) and it was a great conversation.  I truly regret not talking to him more within the last few months because it was always a pleasure.  John and I reconnected back in 2013 and had a chat for about two hours or so... it was truly appreciated and enjoyed.   

God bless him and all of you.  John is truly one of those unique "forces of nature" that I came to really appreciate and the world is a lesser place without him.  I am stunned at his sudden loss and really, really sending good vibes, thoughts and prayers.

Although I haven't seen John since High School, I have thought of him often. He had a good heart, and he was a good friend. I am so sorry for your great loss.
