Joseph “Joe” Guidice, a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, and father figure to many, passed away peacefully after a long illness. He was a devoted husband of 65 years to his loving wife, Josie, with whom he shared a true and enduring love story.
Born and raised in Chicago, Joe and his family spent many summers in Lake Como, Wisconsin where his dear sister, Marilyn Kulisz still resides. He enjoyed reading and recollecting those childhood memories with her, especially later in life. He also had a sister Jacqueline Brait (deceased) and is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe and his wife were avid sports enthusiasts that played tennis, roller bladed, swam, rode bicycles sometimes on a daily basis. They loved to travel and together and they visited 85 countries across six continents. They especially enjoyed the Hawaiian Islands returning there 26 times.
Joe was a person who had wide knowledge and skills in numerous areas. He was extremely intelligent, kind, caring, and a person with a great sense of humor.
He proudly served in the Armed Forces in the United States, Korea, and Japan. He was sent overseas because of his expertise in printing. He continued to grow professionally working for the Chicago Sun Times as a Superintendent.
Joe also enjoyed listening to Italian Operas and loved to Polka dance with his wife Josie on weekends, competing in and winning numerous competitions in the Chicagoland area.
Joe will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his extended family, and the many lives that he touched. May he rest in peace and may God grant him eternal happiness!
Visitation will be held at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646, on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with Prayers at 5:00 pm.
Final Viewing will take place at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Mass at St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, 6955 N Hiawatha Ave, Chicago, IL 60646, at 11:30am.
A Committal Service will follow at St Adalbert Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums, 6800 N Milwaukee Ave, Niles, IL 60714.
