Joe is survived by his son Jason, who continues to carry on Joe’s passions for animals and sports.
Born on November 24, 1947 in Chicago, IL, Joe was the son of Joseph Vodnansky and Clara Balut and the younger brother to his beloved big sisters, Arlene and Loretta.
Among his proudest achievements in life, Joe was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army.
In 1982 he became the proud father of his first child, Angela, who he loved deeply and who continued to watch over him long after her passing. Two years later he became the proud father of his son, Jason.
Joe was an avid sports fan who enthusiastically cheered on the Bears to their 1986 Super Bowl championship. He later got to experience one of the sports highlights of his life, meeting Walter “Sweetness” Payton, shaking his hand and get several autographed pieces of memorabilia. Joe later experienced similar joy watching the Chicago White Sox finally break their World Series championship drought in 2005 and attending the parade in downtown Chicago.
Joe loved dogs and had many in his life over the years, notably Sparky, Peewee, Fluffy, Leo, Lilly and Honey.
