Josephine Carlino Bosnyak was born on June 1, 1929 to Jack and Joanina Carlino in Chicago, IL. Josie passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband, Joseph and daughter, Sandra at her side on January 14, 2021.
Josie was a lifelong resident of Chicago. She graduated from Waller High School in 1947 and began working at Montgomery Ward's. She met Joseph Bosnyak who lived in the flat above her parents. They were frequently at the same group activities such as bowling or roller-skating and Joe would walk her home afterwards. They were married on June 3, 1950 and were married 70 years when she passed.
She is survived by her siblings Johanna Piccolo, Peter Carlino (Emma), Anne Coniglio (Joseph), Martin Carlino, Joseph Carlino (Betty) and Mary Falbo.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters Martha Lira and Rosalie Carlino.
Those 70 years produced Sandra Harrell (Don), Joseph Bosnyak (Karen), Dennis Bosnyak and James Bosnyak. Josie was a grandmother to Lori Davis (Chris), Timothy Rutledge (Rita), Thomas Rutledge (Amy), Greg Rutledge, Melissa Innis, Michelle Bosnyak, Kristine Syron (Edward) Scott Bosnyak (Theresa) and Paul Bosnyak (Melissa). She was a great-grandmother to Micayla Rutledge, Hanna Rutledge, McKinley Davis, Braxton Davis, Brynlee Rutledge, Addlee Rutledge, Isabella Yant, Jacob Innis, Noah Froehlich and Edward Syron. There are also many nieces and nephews.
Due to the pandemic restrictions, visitation is for immediate family only at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home in Chicago. Josie will be laid to rest at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in River Grove.
