Jovita Hernandez, 85, of Chicago passed away Monday January 18, 2016 at Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Born in Mexico on Saturday February 15, 1930 to Juan and Bartola (née Maldonado) Barrera. Beloved wife of Ascencion Hernandez; devoted mother of Eusebio Hernandez, Natalia Castaneda, Maria Gutirrez, Paula Huerta, Juana Rodriquez, Emma Hernandez, Maria Ines Hernandez, Jose Margarito Hernandez, and the late Rosa Hernandez, Cuca Hernandez, Aureliana Hernandez, Gregoria Hernandez, Jose Angel Hernandez and Carlos Hernandez; loving grandmother of 35; cherished great grandmother of 68; adored great grandmother of 3; dear sister of Eulogia Barrera; fond aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Visitation Sunday January 24, 2016 from 4-9pm at The Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home 6901 W. Belmont Avenue Chicago where prayers will be said 9:00am Monday January 25, 2016 to St. Francis of Assisi Church for an 11:00am mass of the resurrection. Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Illinois.
