Judith M. Powers, age 78, passed away on October 27, 2026. Born June 11, 1948, to her adoring parents the late John F. and Hazel A. Powers. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, a long time resident of the Southside, Judy was a graduate of Kelly High school and Daley College. She later moved to Orland Park, IL.
For 30 years, Judy served as a Registered Nurse, dedicating her working life to the steady, compassionate care of others including her parents.
Judy is the loving mother of Lisa M. Smith and Paul J. Velette (CFD), and a proud grandmother of Daniel (Emma), Michael (Meghan), Sean, Molly, Anne, and Patrick Smith. She was also a devoted dog mom of Chloe. Cherished aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
A visitation will be held at Andrew J. McGann and Son Funeral Home 10727 S. Pulaski Rd. Chicago, IL 60655 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday October 30th, 2026. A Chapel Funeral service will begin on Saturday October 31st, 2026 beginning at 10:30am. Private interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL.
