Julie L. Gumiela

Julie L. Gumiela passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, at the age of 46. Born on October 25, 1979, Julie was the beloved daughter of Robert Gumiela and the late Barbara Gumiela, and the loving sister of Michael (Tracey). She was a proud aunt to Grace and Jason, and is also survived by her partner, Octavia Redmond. Julie will be dearly missed by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.

Julie was someone who was always involved in what was going on around her. She had a way of staying connected to people and the world around her, always aware and engaged in the lives of those close to her. Throughout her life, one of her most meaningful relationships was with her mother. The two shared a close bond and spent much of their time together, creating memories that will not be forgotten.

Julie also showed dedication to her family when it mattered most. She took on the responsibility of helping care for her parents when they were no longer able to fully care for themselves. Her willingness to step up during those times reflected a deep sense of loyalty and care.

To those who knew her, Julie will be remembered in her own way—through the moments, memories, and connections she shared. Her life was not without hardship, but those who loved her take comfort in the hope that she has now found peace.

Julie’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, 6901 W. Belmont Ave., Chicago, IL 60634.
