Kali was finishing her sophomore year at Amundsen where she was a member of the cheer team, National Honor Society and had just been accepted into the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. She and her friends loved to hang at the beach, especially at sunrise. She and her family - Teresa (mother) and Niyah (sister) - loved to travel…especially if it meant putting their toes in the sand. You could find her at the beaches in Cape Cod, Mexico, Michigan and Northern California where she would try to find the best food and nature hikes. Her family was always blown away by her creativity and ability to pick up any skill she put her mind to: baking, teaching herself the piano, daydreaming about real estate postings on Zillow and how she would re-decorate them. K particularly enjoyed re-teaching her mother time and again how to use the Alexa. She had a special love for jazz music and animals. K will be missed by her two dogs, Bruno and Ladybug. She is reunited with her first dog, Brooklyn.
She is survived by her loving mother, Teresa Ferris, and her beautiful sister, Niyah Ferris; Her beloved aunts and uncles, Cathy & Mike Brennan of Chicago, IL, PJ Ferris & Nick Tippenhauer of Cincinnati, OH, Maureen & Greg Prindeville of Kingston, MA and Jason Kunzer of Chicago, IL; And her four cousins, Ferris, Clare, Jimmy and Aila Brennan. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary & Manny Ferris.
Friends and family will gather for a Memorial Mass for Kali on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025 at 2:00PM at Old St Patrick’s Catholic Church, 700 W Adams St, Chicago, IL 60661.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Traveling Tails Dog Rescue in Kali’s memory. You can donate online at: https://ttdr.org/.

"We little knew that morning, God was going to call
your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you the day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide and
though we cannot see you, you are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again."
