He loved to travel, exercise, and work.
Karl was the head of his household as a teenager, working to help his struggling mother while achieving the highest academic scores in school. He became a Certified Public Accountant and obtained his Master of Laws in Taxation. He worked for the State’s Attorney's Office in Cook County for 18 years. Mona was his right hand in all things.
Karl's family paid tribute to him as, ‘The ideal family patriarch, and the smartest, funniest, hardest- working person we have ever known. A hard-driving leader willing to sacrifice anything to assist and ease the suffering of others. He was a true martyr to his children and grandchildren, working with intense persistence to ensure a better life than he had for his lineage. We are truly lost without his relentless devotion and guidance to us.’
