Kenneth R. Frese, 88, retired Chicago Police Officer and lifelong resident of Chicago, at rest March 8, 2020. Beloved husband of Lois, nee Johnson, for 69 years. Loving father of Carolyn (Bob) Cyza, Debbie Naser, and Ken (Joan) Frese. Great grandfather of Alexis, Anthony Jr., Lucas, Jonathan, Dominic, Arianna, and Jack. Dear Friend of the late Mike Monahan. Ken "Fredo" will always be remembered by all who knew him for his genuine kindness and great sense of humor. Ken was a dedicated and proud husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and dear friend to many. He was very proud of his lengthy career as a Chicago Police Officer and had many stories about the people he had the opportunity to meet over the years. His love for the City of Chicago was unending as well as for his beloved Chicago sports teams. A lifelong and unrelenting fan of the Bears, Cubs, Bulls and Blackhawks he would never miss an opportunity to attend games or spend the time to watch them on T.V. He was always quick to spoil his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews by taking them to numerous games of all the teams and was always smiling recounting his times introducing the children to the stars including Walter Payton, Michael Jordan, and Ryne Sandberg just to mention a few. He will be greatly missed by all. Funeral Mass Thursday March 12, 10 AM at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church 5212 W. Agatite Ave., Chicago. Ken and I grew up together, on Chicago’s near north side. We continued a friendship through his marriage to Lois and my marriage to Nancy, Lois’ sister. Although changes over the years limited contact, we maintained mutual respect. My wife Margaret and I send our deepest condolences to the Frese family.
