Memories.. there are so many... Kenny you were there for everything. You loved and respected our elders, you were a Godfather to our children. We had the best meals and the most laughs when you were there. You were a hard worker, a great friend and always put everything into perspective. My sister loved you with all her heart. My children respected you and looked up to you for guidance as they grew up and became young men and women with children of their own. I will miss you so much, until we meet again. You will not be forgotten. I picture you up there in heaven with Mom, Dad and Aunt Elsie, watching over us. You are truly one man "the King Mackerel" who was loved by all.

I'll never forget the fishing trip in Virginia Beach when you hooked up with that Mackerel, thought you were struggling with that fish, but it turned out to be a Virginia State record! Thanks for being Santa every Christmas! Thanks for being such a generous and gentle uncle!. Thanks for being a good friend to my Grandfather. Thanks for the Polish Sausage.

I'll never forget the summertime backyard parties you hosted at your house. The hidden yard behind the garage felt like a secret spot as a kid. The basement with the bar ledge and fun little toys to play with were always entertaining and the biggest couch I'd ever see as a kid downstairs! Seeing Santa Claus as a child at your house! Thank you for being such a wonderful uncle and Godfather to me. You were always loving and welcoming to me and knew how to make me laugh and smile. I love you.

A consistent memory from my childhood holiday's is of Uncle Ken with the electric craving knife in the utility room with turkey, ham or beef.

Uncle Ken was always a good respite for me when any family party got a little too crazy. He was always ready to talk sports or cooking. He showed me how to pick out the Christmas roast and how to cut it the right way. I will always remember him with a smile and a joke. Our loss is heaven's gain. Until we meet again my friend.

When I first came into the family, Ken was always nice to me and made me feel like I was really family.

For Christmas one year we took Uncle Ken's bike and fixed it up; new seat, electric lights, a bell, and cleaned it to a shine. He was so happy when he got it and rode it all the time.

Eulogy as written and read by Ken's daughter:

Toots.  Toots is the name my Dad called me for as long as I can remember.  How are you Toots?   How are the kids doing Toots?   Did you get those storms Toots?  

The word Toots was always used in a sentence expressing his care and concern for me.  I know that many of you here have names for him too  my Step Mom Pam calling him Hun, my kids and Grandpa, Kenny to my Aunt and of course Uncle Ken to lots of you.  To me he was Dad.

What can I say about my Dad?  It won't do him justice.  The word that comes to mind when I think of my Dad is strength.  He showed his strength by instilling in my brother and me a core value system that defined who he was.  And that was a man who kept his promises, honored commitments and was full of integrity.

I have always felt that my Dad's greatest commitments were his family and faith.  My dad was deeply committed to my step mom and showed his love to her often.  He wanted to make her happy.  If it was important to her it became important to him.

He showed his commitment to his family by being at every baptism, first communion, graduation and so on.  He loved having his family around him and loved to take care of his family.  Countless hours were spent around the kitchen table at his house or Val's going over what everyone was up to so that later he could brag on us all.  He might not have said it often but he was very proud of the people we've become.

He taught us commitment to faith by making sure we went to church and catholic schools.  He taught us to give thanks to God in everything.  Never was a meal eaten that didn't start with a prayer thanking God for all His love and all that He has given us.

My Dad was a man of integrity.  If he said he was going to do something, consider it done.  If you needed his help, just ask.  He was a hard worker.  He often told me Do what you say and say what you mean. Those of you that know me well now understand where I get this from.  My dad taught me to be a strong, honest, caring person.  I try to honor his legacy by living this way daily.

If you're here today, and I thank you for that that means that he touched your life in some way or another.  That means that you'd miss him in some way or another.

Yes, he will be missed.

Friends will miss his quick wit and sense of humor.

His grand kids will miss their biggest cheerleader.

His wife will miss her best friend.

And me, I'll miss my Dad.

Dear Pam, Frances, Megan, Patrick and Jim,

Love is the eternal flame. Sometimes it burns us, and sometimes it keeps us warm. And mortally, we are not always the best bearers of this flame. 

But what I do know is that Ken--your husband, your father, and your grandfather--loved you all, without question. You were all the lights of his life. 

May you gather peace, strength and understanding during this time by God's Heavenly grace, and by knowing through His love and mercy that the purity of love can never die. 

God will take care of you.

Pam, Fran, Megan, Patrick and Jimmy,

I was very saddened to hear of Ken's passing.  I could never thank Ken and Pam enough for the kindness I was shown over the years.  The generosity we were extended as a young family starting out allowed me, Fran and the kids to go places and see things most starting out do not get to do for many years.  For this I thank you and Pam.

Looking through the pictures it shows the great pride you have for your grandkids and family.  The many trips and weekends you took the kids to the zoo, museums, ballgames and vacations are memories they and I will cherish forever.  Thank you for showing me what a grandfather should be, hopefully someday I will be able to follow your example as a grandfather.
 
Ken may you rest in peace and continue to watch your family from heaven.  You will missed deeply.

I only new Ken for three years, but I immediately knew Ken was a very special man. He and Pam were there for me whenever I needed them.
I remember last Christmas hunting for large print crossword puzzle books to give him.  You would have thought I gave him a million dollars, he liked them so much!

I feel like I know most of the family through Pam, even though I haven't met you all.  Ken will be sorely missed.

Uncle Ken, who has been an enduring presence in our lives,  has been called home to the Lord.  We will miss him greatly and cherish the times we laughed, cheered on our teams, ate the best meals imaginable, opened presents for hours, talked for hours and truly enjoyed each others company.  Our hearts are broken with his loss and we will always remember him.  God Bless You and Keep You and May You Be Born to Eternal Life.

Our family is going to miss our wonderful Uncle Ken more than words can express.  He was a pillar in our family, and life and all of our parties won't be the same without his common sense approach to life and his wonderful sense of humor.  In good times and bad we could always count on Uncle Ken and he was loved so very much.  He was a wonderful Brother in law, Uncle and Godfather and we will never forget him and all that he taught us.  We can only look forward until the day we meet again and until then we will hold on to all of the cherished memories and the good times we had together.  To all of the Lucchesi Family please know that you are in our hearts and prayers at this very difficult and sad time and I am praying that Our Dear Lord Jesus and His blessed Mother will watch over and comfort you.
