Kenny, as he was known to most, was born at Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago. He grew up in Back of the Yards and Roseland neighborhoods, and attended Holy Rosary School and then Fenger High School. He lived in the Ashburn neighborhood with his parents until they moved to Oak Lawn in 1986.
He worked for many years at the National Can Company in Chicago before it closed in 1987. He became a trustworthy and willing worker for manufacturing facilities and in warehouse businesses for the rest of his working life following the closure of the can company.
Kenny cared for both of his parents in their home with patience, love, and care. His parents were his best friends, and he was a beloved son.
He was an avid hobbyist with an adept hand at woodworking and model building, with an incredible eye for detail. He created dollhouses for family members, as well as completed complex and intricate ships and model aircraft. He built elaborate model train displays, featuring landscapes, rivers, and mountains. He had a love for the outdoors and fishing, and owned a home on Lake DuBay in Wisconsin.
Kenny enjoyed walking the neighborhood; the neighbors fondly referred to him as the “gentle giant.” He will be missed by his neighbors and his cherished family, who remember his meticulously kept yard, his love of a great football game, his affection for children, and his generosity.
