Lea Doffyn, 96, of Chicago’s Belmont-Cragin neighborhood passed away unexpectedly at her home after a healthy, long and independent life.
Born in Vrasene, Belgium, Lea and her husband moved to Canada after WWII where they started their family before moving to Chicago. She loved reading history books and she loved animals, especially cats.
Preceded in death by husband Roger Jozef Doffyn, son Daniel Joseph Doffyn, and an infant daughter.
Loving grandmother (“Oma”) of Brittany Cusick and her husband Wilder Cusick, very proud great-grandmother (“G.G.”) of Rowan Marcella Cusick, and faithful companion to her feline friend, “Baby” the cat.
Future interment of cremated remains is planned for Rosehill Cemetery.
