Lillian S. Osinski (nee Dubczak) Beloved wife of the late Alfred J. “Fritz” Osinski; loving mother of Rita (the late Bill) Antonitis, Bernadette (Bill) Postle and Therese Schultz; cherished grandmother of Michael (Melanie), Jason (Heather) Antonitis, Sarah (Brett) Reilly, Becky (Tim) Bliefnick, James (Ginnie), Lauren and Christopher Schultz; adoring great grandma of 10; dearest sister of Stanley (the late Irene). Lil was born and raised in Hegewisch, on the far southeast side of Chicago. As a child she played sandlot softball and enjoyed roller skating.

Tuesday was bowling day in our family, Fritz in the evenings at Palace Manor and Lil in the mornings. Beside bowling in a league, Lil enjoyed many “family bowls” on the weekends. Tuesday evenings were reserved for Bingo. She played mean defense at the family picnic softball games, and partnered with Fritz, won many an egg toss competitions. As the grandchildren grew and participated in their various sports through the years, Lil could be seen sitting in the bleachers whether it was outside for baseball or at a school gym for volleyball and basketball.

When not enjoying a cruise or many other vacations, you just might run into Lil in a Las Vegas casino. Unfortunately, she had to settle for the local casinos in her later years but never turned down an opportunity for a chance at the slots. Some of her best memories were of the numerous family vacations she and Fritz arranged to Disney World with all their children and grandchildren.

Lil’s story wouldn’t be complete without a mention of her years of volunteering. She continuously gave of herself to Queen of the Universe Church as a sacristan, also taking on the responsibility of cleaning and decorating. She served as principle of the CCD program for over 20 years along with her love of preparing the second-grade class for First Communion. Somehow there was still time for the Queen’s Guild, school board, class field trips, Little Company of Mary Hospital gift shop and sending numerous packages to missions in Chinle, AZ and her relatives in Poland.

Lil, Mom, you taught us well not only when you said, “Whatever you do, do it with love,” but by your life long example of sharing and caring. And now, with the words you spoke every time we walked out the door, God Be With You!
