

Born in Lares, Puerto Rico Luz was the daughter of the late Honorio Soberal and Rosaura Rivera Soberal. Luz was the beloved wife and widow of the late Jose Antonio Orjales sharing 34 years of marriage together. Left to cherish her memory are her children Jose A. Jr., Jose “Joey” (Julie) and the late Jose “Ubi” (Wanda). Cherished grandmother of Trisha, Christine, Julia Melissa Orjales-Calabrese (Giuseppe), Connie, Angelina (Osbaldo) Viramontes and much- loved great-grandmother of Adrian and Layla Morales and Emma and Ethan Times. Luz was the loving sister of Rico, Heidi, Ruben, Rosa, Brunilda, Gladys, Hector and the late Blanca, Elba, Victor, Jose “Pelon” and Louie. Fond sister-in-law and Aunt of many.
A woman of great faith and a devoted catholic, she prayed over her rosary daily. Luz truly lived life to the fullest always making sure her family was taken care of. She had a loving personality and made friends wherever she went and was always the life of the party. Luz was fearless, an explorer who loved to travel and her laughter, smile and loving ways will be greatly missed by many dear relatives and friends. Luz would love to be remembered as the classy, elegant, hilarious and hard-working self-dependent woman that she was.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 21st, 2023 at 10am from Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, 6901 West Belmont Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. Visitation will be Wednesday, 3pm – 8pm. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, Illinois.
