Our mother had a huge sacrificial heart, fiercely loyal to everyone she loved and cared for. There was nothing she would not do for you.
She was the coolest mother. Saturday nights always brought all the kids in the neighborhood to our home for Mom’s homemade pizza.
She coached volleyball, taught us how to roller-skate, she could dance a mean jitterbug or polka, and even taught the priests how to skateboard.
In the summertime, she would pass out ice cream to all the kids playing in the heat and give a cold drink to the city employees working outside, always thinking about how she could help someone or just make a day a little better.
If you ever entered our home, you were fed, encouraged to nap and never left empty handed. We all knew Mom’s house meant cookies, snacks and lots of love.
She was an avid gardener and loved growing flowers, fresh vegetables and her rock garden. She could never get her hands on enough rocks.
She was the ultimate handyman, always decorating and remodeling, always wanting to tear down a wall.
She was a lifelong seamstress and fantastic quilter. Sewing our clothes, coats and making curtains for us all was what she did. Everybody is wrapped in love with a handmade quilt made especially for them. She even made a quilt for the mailman.
She passed out candy everywhere she went. She loved popsicles, good pizza, and binge-watching TV shows.
Her work worn hands weakened over time, but the love in her heart ever strengthened.
She taught us all how to dance in the rain.
She loved our father Adam, her three children Steve (Lisa) Miller, Stacey (George) Carlen, Kellie (Frank) Valencia.
Nothing meant more to her than her grandchildren, George (Cheree), Reba (Kevin), Bradley (Rebecca), Tristan, Cameron, Evan, and Holly and her two great grandchildren, Adam and David.
We love her with all our heart for all eternity.
Our lives are forever changed by her and will be forever changed without her.
Our worst day was her best day.
