Maria Elena Chavez

Maria Elena Chavez, age 68 of Chicago, IL was called to be with our Heavenly Father on April 26, 2020. Maria was born on November 19, 1951 in San Jose Jalisco, Mexico to the late Jose and late Altagracia Cavada. Maria was an Honor Graduate of Horace Mann High School in Gary, IN, and was a dedicated employee of CNA Insurance Company for 25 years.

Beloved wife of Jose Luis Chavez; loving mother of Lenette A. Cavada(Minneapolis, MN), Michael A. (Lindsay) Chavez (Chicago, IL) and Jose Luis Chavez Jr. (Chicago, IL); cherished grandmother of Luis Angel, Tatyana Maria, Jose Luis III, Etairic Toriano, Aaerion, Michael Anthony Jr. and Tiago; great- grandmother of Julian Angel, Tylin, La’Niyah Elena; fond sister of Salvador Cavada(Gary, IN), Alfredo Cavada(Gary, IN), Josefina (Jose Luis) Valdivia(Chicago, IL), Emestina Cavada(Aurora, IL), the late Jose Cavada and late Abel Cavada; aunt to many nieces and nephews along with several other family members.

She is adored and loved by her family and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held privately with a memorial service to follow at a later date. She will be laid to rest at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, Niles, IL.
