She was the beloved wife of 60 years to her late husband Stanley. Maria worked for the State of Illinois in the Department of Public Aid and was admired for her strong work ethic and dedication.
Maria found joy in spending time with her close-knit group of friends, gathering every Tuesday to share stories and meals. She cherished these moments, especially with those who shared her experiences of immigrating from Poland and overcoming similar hardships.
Her family’s history is one of greatest strengths. During World War II, Maria and her loved ones endured immense challenges, including being forcibly displaced to Siberia. From there they went though the middle east then to India. Through courage and perseverance, her family later relocated to England, where Maria eventually met her husband and began a new chapter of her life.
Maria is lovingly remembered by her son Joseph and other extended family members. Her strength, compassion, and warmth will continue to inspire all who knew her.
