Maria “Toña” Martinez was born in Puerto Rico and came to the United States at the young age of 12. Though she left the island early in life, Puerto Rico always remained in her heart. She carried her culture proudly and made sure her children learned it, appreciated it, and passed it on.
Toña was a woman of strong will and deep love. She had a firm hand, but every lesson she taught came from a place of care and devotion. She raised her children with strong morals and deep values, teaching them the importance of family and faith. She often reminded them that life comes with ups and downs, and that while our actions have consequences, we must face them, learn from them, and keep moving forward.
Full of love for both her family and her community, Maria was a generous soul who found joy in giving. She often fed the homeless and lent a helping hand to anyone in need. Through her example, she taught her children what it meant to live with compassion and faith in God.
Maria “Toña” Martinez was the proud mother of six children and is now reunited in heaven with her beloved son, Ricky. Though her earthly journey has come to an end, her love, her lessons, and her laughter will live forever in the hearts of those who knew her. Her family finds peace in knowing she is now resting in the arms of the Lord, surrounded by light and eternal love.
