Maria Cristina Vega, age 83, was born July 23, 1941 in Venado, San Luis Potosi, Mexico and passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Maria Cristina was the beloved wife of the late Jose D. Vega; most loving mother of Maria (Joaquin) Moreno, Hortencia Vega, Teresa (Jorge) Vargas, Jose D. Vega Jr., Luis Vega and Yolanda (Alberto) Manrique; adoring grandmother of Diana Moreno, Jorge Vargas Jr., Adriana Moreno, Elisa (Fabian) Robles, Gabriela (Jose) Velazquez, Angela Vega, Lucas Manrique and Alexandra Manrique; most adoring great-grandmother of Viviana Velazquez and Adrian Velazquez; dear daughter of the late Jose N. & Aurora Galvan; beloved sister of Rosa (Carlos) Villarreal, Martha Galvan, Margarita Galvan, Jose (Maria Elena) Galvan, the late Filiberto (Celina) Galvan and Luis (Flora) Galvan; unforgettable aunt; caring cousin; and fond friend of many.

Visitation for Maria Cristina will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and her Final Viewing Prayers on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 8:30 AM until 9:00 AM, both at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, 6901 West Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60634. Maria's Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 10:00 AM at The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1100 North River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016. Her Cemetery Committal Prayers and Entombment will follow immediately after at All Saints Cemetery & Mausoleum, 700 North River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
