We grew up in this “house”  the  First Floor    Dad & Mom owned this beautiful place since 1964   

So many memories    Our parents were very hospitable and all were welcomed     

Mom worked at 
Bodine Electric Company, it was walking distance    Mom walked there 5 days a week   

Many women from Europe worked there;    2 commonalities were English as their second language and exchanging recipes from their native countries

Mom supported my decision to become a US Dental Officer 

I proudly wore the NAVY Uniform   

Mom had other family members who wore Service Uniforms Ecuador

My love and sympathies go out to the family.  The great Mom Velez was one of the world's kindest most loving souls.  She is certainly resting happily with our Father up above. 
I was very fortunate to have her in my life during those school years when encouragement and knowing that someone cared for me was very impactful.  She was always warm, had kind words to say, and always treated me like one of her own. 
 
I will forever be grateful to her.

My heartfelt condolences to all of Maria’s family who had the absolute blessing and privilege of having her in their lives.  She was such a kind snd loving woman - like no other I have ever known.   Her devotion to  & love for her family was exemplary and second to none.  She was truly an angel & a role model who will be surely missed.    May her family be comforted by the beautiful memories of all the happy times they shared together over the many years.   Her spirit will live on in the hearts & minds of all those who knew her and loved her.  May she rest in peace…… With much affection for the family and fond memories - Donna Barrington.

Spent lots of my young age at the Velez home. Latin X music, food and home decor.  My dad's American , my mom is from Germany and my best friend from Ecuador.  I was lucky to have many influences.  Mrs. Velez made homemade Pina coladas to die for, and the only refried beans I will ever eat. The first time I had cilantro was here. Didn't love it,  but I sure do now. Mr. and Mrs. Velez were so elegant and classy.  I'm so sad that they are now both gone.
