Maria Woltanski left this earth Sunday, March 26, 2023 at the age of 100. Maria was born on January 25, 1923 in Belzec, Poland to the late Jan & Franciszka Myszkowska. She was married to the late Chester Woltanski in 1973 and formerly Lucjan Przybylak in 1945.
As a young 16 year old girl, Maria was taken to a work camp in Frankfurt, Germany during the Second World War.During her time at the work camp she was a translator, she spoke five languages. After the war, she went back to Poland to begin her family and opened her own dry cleaning business. Maria moved to Chicago in 1968, followed by her daughter Christina Mariduena, son Roman Przybylak, sister Janina Myszkowska and brother Bolek Myszkowska. She started working at Imperial Factory in Chicago. After retirement she began her own cleaning business and soon took on remodeling houses.
Survivors include: her daughter Christina, and grandsons; John, Arthur and Robert Mariduena, and granddaughters Diane Florynski and Joanne Przybylak and five great-grandchildren. Maria was preceded in death by son Roman Przybylak, sister Janina, Myszkowska, brothers Czeslouw Myszkowska, Bolek Myszkowska, and youngest brother Florian Myszkowska.
Maria’s family will receive visitors at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, 6901 W. Belmont Ave, on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home. Priest Ryszard Gron will officiate. Resting place will take place at Mount Olive Cemetery, 3800 N Narragansett Ave.
